Description:
New Directions English is designed to meet the learning objectives specified in the latest National Curriculum Framework (NCF 2023). The series emphasizes learning through classroom interaction, practical application and critical thinking. The theme-based and interdisciplinary units feature literary as well as informative texts to promote diverse reading approaches and comprehension skills. By blending conceptual and practical exercises, this series encourages a balance between the academic and functional aspects of English.

Jobin Mathew Kanjirakkat has an MA and an MPhil in Linguistics from the Central Institute of Foreign Languages, Hyderabad (now, the English and Foreign Languages University). His PhD involved Linguistics and Philosophy. Following postdoctoral training in Halifax, Canada, he served as an instructor at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Thiruvananthapuram and as Assistant Professor at the Vellore Institute of Technology. He has also contributed to the educator development sector, conducting workshops and training sessions for primary school teachers and students. Currently, as an educational consultant, he builds on his experience in writing, editing and translation to develop effective teaching projects and learning materials.
